Executive Summary

Latinos face many barriers to living, thriving, and contributing fully and authentically. What’s driving these inequities? A system that limits Latinos' ability to access economic opportunity and build social and cultural power to buy a home and feel at home. This is the Latino Opportunity Gap.

The Buying A Home and Feeling At Home project will narrow the Gap by:

  • Expanding its Regional Mortgage Program across the Southeast U.S. to ensure thousands more Latino families can access quality loans.
  • Launching the Southeast’s first, free-standing Latino Cultural Center to celebrate and share the diverse cultures of Latinos and build strong social and cultural networks that support Latinos' ability to fully engage civically in their communities.
  • Creating the Experiencia Latina Equity Training to help Latinos and their neighbors develop a more nuanced understanding of the Latino experience and shape local norms and policies.
  • Elevating Latino-led Community Philanthropy through the creation of dozens of giving circles to galvanize the Latino community to better leverage our assets, support local initiatives, and foster a new generation of Latino leaders.
